L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E Movement
Language poetry evolved in the late 1960s. It was created to make new ways that the reader could interpret or interact with the poetry. It's all about format. Language poets don’t usually focus on self-expression, but detached themselves from their work and make it that the way the words were presented were interesting, not the actual content, making the poem unique. You can’t approach any two language poems the same because of its incomparable material and form. Each poet has his or her own style and approach to Language Poetry, making the possibilities expansive and the definition of a language poem broad. Some important poets of this movement are Charles Bernstein, Barrett Watten and Bob Perelman.
