Poem AnalysisThe poet is tired of chasing after dreams because no matter how hard he works they still remain dreams, unattainable to reach. He continues to strive for success but he cant get a break. He's sick of seeing people that doesn't try as hard as he does reaping the reward and achieving their accomplishments. Now he is upset. He cant see any light at the end of his tunnel. He shares,"Angered by life and its woes, Windows never open, when the doors close, It seems". He is now discouraged and his disappointments and grief is causing him so much pain it feels like he is dying. His misfortune is causing his tenacity and diligence to cease because with those virtues he possesses hasn't accomplished anything. Then he stops pitying himself and realize sulking wont get him anywhere. He understands," Nothing ever comes of complaining...The only way to achieve, and time redeem, Release disappointments, continue to pursue
hopes and dreams". He knows what he has to do and wont dwell on his shortcomings any longer. He is determined to reach his goal. |
Literary Devices AnalysisIn this poem I've found two literary devices; conflict and plot. Conflict is found all throughout the poem. The poets faces discouragement while chasing his dreams because he's been working hard towards it but haven't achieved anything. He shows conflict here," Tired of pursuing hopes and dreams, they only come with many disappointments". The poem has a typical plot. A person is working to accomplish some kind of goal, he faces hardships and set backs, he becomes disheartens and comes close to giving up, then finally having an epiphany, and continues to pursue the goal.

It Seems - The Refined Poet
It Seems
Tired of pursuing hopes and dreams
They only come with many
disappointments
It seems...
Wearied with chasing ultimate success
It only comes to those
who couldn't care less
It seems...
Angered by life and its woes
Windows never open
when the doors close
It seems...
A moment with pity leads to inner death
Destroying patience and perseverance
till a man's dying breath
Nothing ever comes of complaining
Address the negative feelings
purging them through explaining
The only way to achieve, and time redeem
Release disappointments, continue to pursue
hopes and dreams
It seems....
